About Me

My name is Matt, and my professional writing career started with a series of part-time assignments in 1999. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work on 200+ books, along with thousands of articles, speeches, and other projects.

Earlier in my career I worked as a sales professional, financial advisor, and speakers bureau agent. While I moved to writing full-time in 2007, those experiences were crucial to the success of my career because they taught me the importance of listening and developing relationships.

They also gave me firsthand exposure to the need for persuasive messaging, and showed me just how important published books and articles could be to building credibility.

As an experienced ghostwriter, my role is to help you build your profile and share your ideas with the world. I want everyone I work with to feel like they’re getting personal attention, along with all of my focus and creativity.

I get a great deal of pride from knowing that so many of my clients have come back to me again and again, and that they refer me to their friends and colleagues.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Hire a Ghostwriter to Work on My Book?

Most of the people who work with me have interesting lives or fantastic ideas. What they don’t have is the time or talent to sit down and work on a book for months on end. If that sounds like you, then you might be an excellent candidate to work with a ghostwriter. That way you can have someone on your side who can make you sound like a professional while helping you through the writing and publishing process.

What Sorts of Ghostwriting Clients Do You Work With?

I’ve occasionally worked with athletes, celebrities and entertainers, but most of my clients are entrepreneurs, motivational speakers, and business leaders. Usually they are men and women who want their books to be finished quickly and professionally.

Are There Book Writing Projects You Won’t Take?

Finding the right project is all about the perfect fit of topic, schedule, and personalities. So, those are my top considerations. As a rule of thumb, though, I don’t write a lot of material that is focused on religion. It just isn’t my strong suit.

What Is It Like to Work with You?

Usually, the first phase of a ghostwriting project is just about getting to know one another, either in person or over the phone. After that, I’ll typically conduct recorded interviews so I can get a sense of your material and your personality. The goal is to ensure your book sounds like it’s come from you, not me. As that process moves along, I’ll write pages and send them your way for revision. Once an entire draft of the book has been finished, we’ll review it together and make any needed revisions before a final proofread.

What Happens After You’re Finished Writing My Book?

Most clients prefer to have me handle the details of cover design, typesetting, and ebook conversion.

Once those technical issues have been taken care of, your book is ready for printing, distribution, and sales. It usually takes around two months to get from a signed contract to a finished book, depending on the client’s schedule and the complexity of the project.

What Can You Tell Me About Fees and Schedules?

Most of my book projects are finished within two months. As for fees, it’s hard to give good answers without knowing what you have in mind because no two book projects are ever the same. For specific answers on your project, I’d encourage you to either check out my short ebook (above) or contact me for a specific quote.
